Could Eda be hiding something? Maybe it’s my Gravity Falls brain talking, but I think Eda is keeping something secret in that tower. There’s absolutely no way the tower wasn’t an intentional design choice, so I have to believe it has significance. Why would Eda build a grey tower next to her house, or build her house next to an existing grey tower? No character has entered the tower yet on camera. Still, why did she choose to have Hooty there?īut my much important question: what is going on with that grey tower? In Hooty’s Moving Hassle, the tower behind the house did not move, implying it is separate. First of all, where did it come from? I have to imagine Eda made it herself, although I could be wrong. It also has this very familial and homey overall feel, so I associate the house itself with mother/daughter moments between Luz and Eda. The house, especially feels just like how I would imagine Eda feels at home. I guess I like the Owl House because it’s so Eda. No location so far has jumped out at me, although I was a big fan of the forest/clearing where the Grom dance took place. I mean, Hooty IS the house, right? Anyways, I’m not a person who usually pays much attention to locations in cartoons unless I find them particularly stunning. My favorite place would have to be The Owl House itself! It’s also sort of my second favorite character, if you think about. owltober owltober prompt owltober challenge owltober day 27 baburrito's prompts october the owl house owl house toh toh thoughts toh theory over the garden wall otgw toh glyphs light glyph the boiling isles wirt otgw wirt over the garden wall wirt otgw woodsman over the garden wall woodsman otgw theory over the garden wall thoughts otgw thoughts over the garden wall theory ![]() It’s a theory-in-progress and it’s definitely not going to become canon, but I think it’s really cool to think about. The lights made from the glyphs represent the lost souls who end up in such a place, such as Wirt, whose picture is on the glyph. It could be interpreted as any form of afterlife/a place that some or all souls go after death. What if the Boiling Isles represented some form of hell/afterlife, and the orbs made from lights glyphs represented the souls that ended up there? The Boiling Isles has already been compared to hell, but it doesn’t necessarily have to be hell. So much is left up to interpretation that we’re unsure if Wirt and Greg are alive or dead at the end of the show. And of course, life and death is one of the central thematic topics of the show. Arguably, the light represents the soul itself. The Woodsman has to keep the lantern lit to keep his daughter’s soul alive. ![]() *If you have not seen Over the Garden Wall, stop reading here. It’s a cool Easter egg, though. But if it did mean something, what could that be? To be clear, I don’t actually think this similarity has significance, but it’s fun to overanalyze and theorize about what significance it could possibly have. What does it mean? Well, probably nothing. ![]() The glyph looks like it could be a crude, stick figure sketch of Wirt. ![]() On to the theory: I am not the first one to point this out, but I’ve noticed that the light glyph from The Owl House bears a strong resemblance to the character Wirt from Over the Garden Wall. This is one piece of a “megatheory” that I’m working on, and I’m still piecing the whole thing together. I’ve had the rough idea in my head for what I wanted to do for today for some time, but it’s still a messy theory-in-progress, so apologies if it’s a little scatterbrained. ![]()
